Grid-Based Strategy Prototype
A downloadable game
Hello! I'm an aspiring game developer building a portfolio i can show in job interviews. "Grid-Based Strategy Prototype" is the first project i'll have on my portfolio and i want to work towards making my next projects even more complex and even better. My goal is to make prototypes and/or small projects, improving my skills and being better at what i already know with each project.
-- Rules of the game --

These are strongholds. Strongholds gain Cell Power (CP) every turn. CP can be used to create Units. The number above a stronghold represents its current CP.
Example: If a Stronghold has 15 CP, that stronghold can sacrifice 10 CP to create an unit with 10 Unit Power (UP).

Mines don’t produce cellpower on their own. Instead, they boost the amount of cellpower ally strongholds gain each turn.
Mine Value: The longer a mine is controlled, the stronger it becomes. Each mine has a minevalue, minevalue increases by +1 each turn you control it. Minevalue starts at 1 when captured and maxes out at 5.
Cellpower gained = 3 (base) + total minevalue from all ally mines

These are units. You can move units by clicking on them and pressing WASD. On a single turn, you can move units 5 times in total. For example, in one turn, you can move one unit 3 times and another unit 2 times. Or 4 and 1. Or 2, 2 and 1. The logic is simple. Units can attempt to capture enemy strongholds and mines by being moved into the target cell. Units can attack each other if an ally unit is moved to the same cell as an enemy unit.

Combat Scenario 1: UP > CP, thus the blue unit captures the red stronghold, which becomes a blue stronghold with 6 (9 - 3) CP.

Combat Scenario 2: UP < CP, thus the red unit fails to capture the blue stronghold, which now has 3 (12 - 9) CP.

Combat Scenario 3: UP = CP, thus the blue unit is destroyed and the red stronghold survives with 0 (6 - 6) CP.

These are blockages. You can't move units onto blockages. Uh, that's it.
